Physical activity is very important, especially during the school day. Children achieve higher academically if they are frequently engaged in sports and it is beneficial for the mind and body. Lunchtime provides the perfect opportunity for children to get at least 30 minutes of exercise.
S2S Courses offer a wide range of sporting activities for children to participate in during lunchtime. Our supervised, energising activities during the lunch break engage children of all ages, helping them to develop social skills on the playground whilst participating in fun PE games. We involve children in a number of different activities and include children of all ages and abilities.
Not only does having professional sports coaches help engage children in lunchtime sport, but there are also a variety of other ways to keep children active at lunchtime.

So what can we do to keep children active at lunchtime?
Appointing older children as Play Leaders to help organise lunchtime activities can help engage younger, shy or timid children in sports. Using Play Leaders introduces leadership amongst older children, in years 5 and 6 encouraging them to help organise activities for children during lunchtime and inspiring young children to get involved and join in the fun, whilst monitoring behaviour and keeping score.
The Mini Bootcamp
Mini Bootcamps (or short fitness training sessions) work on a number of areas such as agility, intensity, movement and coordination. Encourage children to work towards new goals each week to improve their stamina and enhance their ability. Make sure the intensity of the session isn’t too high, as this will take place during lunchtime, but do allow children to work towards set targets and learn more about their body.
Football and Basketball Clubs
Football and basketball clubs will require children to work in a team and, therefore, it will enhance their social development and teamwork skills, whilst providing a number of physical benefits. Both clubs will improve a child’s coordination, agility, throwing/footwork, aiming and shooting skills.
Along with these physical benefits, working in teams will help boost a child’s maturity. Children will learn how to commend the winning team and come back stronger next time. They will learn to not ‘rub it in’ for those who have lost, and show good sportsmanship.
Dance clubs will provide a number of physical, emotional and social benefits for children to participate in during lunchtimes. Children will work on movement, a number of dance styles, coordination and stamina. Dance will help increase confidence levels and provide children with a more positive attitude.

Our coaches provide, plan and support a wide range of sports activities for children during lunchtime, including net and ball games, gymnastics, dance, invasion games, striking and fielding and athletic activities.
